My kindergarten teacher once warned my mother that I “wouldn’t accomplish much in life” because I questioned everything—authority, instructions, even the so-called right answers. But questioning wasn’t about defiance. It was about truth. Even then, I was driven by a deep need to understand, to challenge, to make things right. And that drive has never left me.
It led me to the law.
It led me to the bench.
And it led me right here—to Carter Law Group.
Over the course of my legal career, I’ve stood on both sides of the courtroom—representing plaintiffs and defendants—and served as an appellate court judge, hearing cases across six counties. From civil to criminal to family law, I’ve seen how the law works, and how often it doesn’t—for the people who need it most.
Serving on the bench taught me the power of impartiality. But stepping down reminded me where my heart truly lies: standing beside individuals, not institutions. Fighting for the people who’ve been overlooked, silenced, or steamrolled by systems built to protect power—not people.
Whether it’s going up against pharmaceutical giants for putting profits over patient safety, defending the rights of workplace discrimination and retaliation survivors, helping families recover from catastrophic loss, or representing victims of sexual assault, I bring every ounce of my experience—and every ounce of my fire—to the fight.
